Renee Godwin and her family, are long-time residents of Douglas County. After graduating from Atlanta Public School. Renee attended Morris Brown College and Columbia Southern University, where she is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. Renee has dedicated her life to public service. Specifically, Renee has 25 years as a law enforcement professional, serving the metropolitan Atlanta area. As a Georgia certified peace officer, Renee has performed various law enforcement duties.
In addition to obtaining peace officer certification, Renee is a Peace Officers Standards & Training Certified General Instructor, Certified Gang Resistance Education & Training (G.R.E.A.T.) instructor, and is a board member and a state certified assessor for the Georgia Police Accreditation Coalition (which offers professional certification for Georgia’s various law enforcement agencies. In addition to the Georgia Police Accreditation Coalition, Renee is a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, the Fraternal Oder of Police and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers. Included in her illustrious career, Renee is proud to have served Douglas County, as well, under the leadership of Sheriff Phil Miller.
Renee is offering her candidacy for Douglas County Coroner, and is asking the citizens for their support in the November General Election.
