Doris Jones Wright is the City Director for Ward 6. A native of Lake Village, Arkansas, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1981. She also received a Certified Public Manager designation from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She retired in 2015 after 26 years with the State of Arkansas.

Director Wright was first elected to the Little Rock Board of Directors in November 2006. She was reelected in November 2010. She served as the first female African American Vice-Mayor of the City of Little Rock from 2012-2014. She currently serves on the National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Committee.

Director Wright has focused her efforts on supporting the growth of existing businesses and creating a safe, nurturing and information-rich environment where community residents and new entrepreneurs can flourish.
