As District 2 Councilman for the City of Moreno Valley, I worked to increase affordable housing, established the City’s Economic Development Department, saved the city utility $1.3 Million in bond financing, negotiated for the design and build of the Heacock and Cactus Channels to prevent flooding, brought in new businesses, created a non-profit round table, improved public safety, reduced medical response time and more.

I am committed to A Lifetime of Service. was the Vice Chair of March JPA, Chair of the Ecological preservation and Chair of the Planning Commission. Additionally, I served as the Mayor Pro Tem and I am the SCAG Regional Council Member representing Perris and Moreno Valley.

As Mayor, I will:

• Support new businesses and economic development, creating quality jobs for residents

My past experience includes serving in US Navy for 24 years. I am an experienced medical device design developer with more than a dozen patents, and am President/Owner of Eclectic Medical Device Consulting. I also spent 14 years teaching high school science classes.

I have been a Moreno Valley resident since 1982 and have been actively involved in the community, including serving on the Planning Commission from 2011 until my election to the City Council.

I am a founding member of the Hidden Springs Residents Committee and have served on several boards, commissions, and committees including the Ecological Preservation Committee, Economic Development Subcommittee, Finance Subcommittee, March Joint Powers Commission (MJPC), Recreational Trails Board, School Districts/City Joint Task Force Utilities Commission, and Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG).

Currently, as a Council Member, I represents the City as a member of the Regional Council of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and their sub-committees including the Audit Committee, Communication Committee, Earthquake Resilience Initiative, Legislative and Membership Committee, Open Data/Big Data Committee, and the Transportation Committee. I am also the City’s representative on the League of California Cities Legislative Communication and Transportation Committees. Additionally, I serves as the primary representative for the City on the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority (RCA) which provides habitat conservation information as well as descriptive information regarding affected species.

I currently work for the local community as a director and adviser on the board of two local non-profit organizations- Community Now and Music Changing Lives respectively. Community Now works to create a safe and healthy community by working directly in the schools and in the community providing various programs including Safe Routes to School and anti-bullying programming. Music Changing Lives offers the high quality music and art enrichment programs to underprivileged and at-risk youth to help them improve their chances of achieving a positive and successful future.

My education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from California State University-Fullerton, a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from California Baptist University, and a Masters of Education Technology degree from California Baptist University. I also maintains a clear teaching credential and an administrative service credential.
