Office: Pajaro Valley Unified School Board
My husband and I have been married for 34 years, we have 2 children 7 grandchildren 1 great grand child and one on the way. I own and operate a landscape design business. We also farm 8 acres and grow and sell our certified organic produce locally.
In the past I worked in special education for the Santa Cruz County Office of Education. This position required specialized help in the classroom with students who could not physically or mentally attend a standard classroom . This temporary position took me to many school sites and I developed longtime relationships. I was hired by the County Office of Education to teach a part time vocational class (ROP). The position was to develop and teach a vocational trade in a viable industry.
I had the opportunity to Instruct 20 or so students, in classroom and outdoors .The students produced hand- on projects as a team, planting garden areas on campus. It was great to see the students with a sense of accomplishment. I taught this program for 2 semesters and the program continued after I left.
I have volunteered for the Historical Trust, Evergreen Cemetery and Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History.
School safety is a top priority. Students cannot learn if they come to school in fear.
We all can agree that our children are our future, for them to succeed we must provide the best education.
