I love Sacramento and fighting for a better, fairer city is my passion. I’m honored to serve as your Councilmember. I’ve fought to ensure accountability, to advance equity, to serve our most vulnerable, and to battle climate change while keeping us safe, balancing the budget, and to preserve our neighborhoods.
My top priority has been on solving homelessness with more affordable housing, comprehensive shelters, like the Capitol Park Hotel housing over 100 homeless guests, and advance regional cooperation to help those living on the streets move into stability with better lives. My legislation helped renters with new protections against unfair rent increases & unfair evictions. We have re-opened libraries, invested in our neighborhood parks, expanded our arts and cultural programs, and focused on our at-risk youth.
I’m at the forefront of the Council on reducing our carbon footprint and fighting climate change. I’ve done this by improving transit, advancing electric vehicle infrastructure, championing new housing closer to jobs, and making the city more walkable and bikeable.
We have so much more work to do together. I would be grateful to earn your vote to continue our neighborhood progress and our city’s renaissance.
Warmly,
Steve Hansen
