Steve Olson served in military health care in the US Navy for over 29 years. He worked on the hospital wards treating patients and with the Marines in Vietnam attending to their health care needs. While serving in Washington DC, Steve obtained his license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He worked on the implementation of standard accounting systems at military hospitals and was responsible for the world wide collection and processing of all Navy health care data. This data was used by the Navy, DoD, the Office of the President and Congress. Steve was Acting and then Assistant Budget Officer for the Navy Medical Department with roughly a $13 Billion dollar budget. For most of his eight years in Washington DC, he participated on joint service committees that crafted the elements of the military health care delivery system. Upon the launch of TriCare, Steve was the only non-physician to become a Director for one of 12 TriCare Regions and led the efforts to create and manage the VA health care delivery plan.

Since moving to Loveland in 1997, Steve has served on the Planning Commission, volunteers with the American Red Cross, and is currently on the Citizens Finance Advisory Commission (CFAC).

Currently Steve is a Partner in B2B CFO, the nations largest provider of Chief Financial Officer services for early stage to mid-sized companies. Steve is a licensed CPA in Colorado, a Certified Business Transition Expert(TM), and a Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA). He has extensive experience in a wide range of leadership, management and advisory positions. In his role as CFO, he ensures executives are provided with timely and accurate financial statements, reviews ongoing cash flow projections, provides oversight over accounting and finance operations, as well as design and maintenance of the financial reporting structures. In addition to his accounting and finance oversight responsibilities, Steve offers broad management, internal control and strategic advice.

As a continuation of his lifelong commitment to public service, Steve is dedicated to serving the people of Loveland. Steve’s experience and financial expertise will bring great value to the Loveland City Council.
