As a native of Lake City, born downtown at Lake Shore Hospital, I have deep roots coupled with a great love for our city. Through the years I have been your neighbor, banker, manager, co-worker, employer, employee, advisor, customer and friend. When called upon by our community, we have worked hand-in-hand. This appreciation and love of our community was instilled within me from a young age by both my parents and grandparents. My community service has included the presidency of the Lake City Downtown Rotary Club, Campaign Chair and President of the United Way of Suwannee Valley, Chairman of the Board for Career Source Florida Crown, President of the Lake City-Columbia County Humane Society and others.
For more than 20 years, I have been married to Laura Sampson and together we have five amazing daughters, ranging in age from 3 to 14 years. Let me also include, I am a fur daddy of a shelter dog and way too many shelter cats (they are the kids really!) As your City Council District 13 representative, a top priority of mine will be working towards our children having the ability to realize their career goals in Lake City. We also need to provide support for services allowing our mature citizens the ability to age in place.
I am a local business owner and for the last 20 years I have worked in the banking and finance industry. This gave me experience as a commercial loan officer and a mortgage lender. Helping people reach their dreams of home ownership is exciting, and with that comes new and expanding business enterprises. My faith is also especially important to my entire family and we are charter members of the Lake City Christian Church.
My free time is spent investing in Lake City to ensure excellent quality of life for my children and the residents of our wonderful city. My goal is to earn your vote to represent City Council District 13. Call me and let us share ideas on helping Lake City “Growing Forward.”
