Maria Kadau is a 1st time candidate for Largo City Commission, seat 2. She will fight for affordable housing, first responder enhancements, vibrant downtown Largo with business-friendly policies, infrastructure improvements and career technical advocacy so that Largo - a city 83,000+ strong - will be the community of choice in Tampa Bay. It's time to move forward, not backwards.
Maria Kadau is passionate and knowledgeable in the areas concerning most Largo residents today. She is a wife of 25 years to a husband in the fire service, and mother of two girls who were deeply rooted in Largo's parks & recreation offerings while growing up. Maria is not afraid to take risks. An active Realtor since 2010, she jumped in while other agents left in droves because the industry 'became too messy' with short sales and foreclosures. She joined the Army National Guard AFTER graduating with 2 degrees from college, then went into non-profit management and moonlighted on the weekends as an EMT prior to having children. Maria has been an avid volunteer for the past 15 years with the City on various advisory boards, as well as Largo High School and the Rotary Club of Largo. Maria's unique background is diverse and well-rounded, and will help guide her decision-making on the Commission.
