James E. Burroughs, Jr. is a small business owner, an experienced executive, and a candidate to become the next District 1 County Commissioner of Tift County, Georgia. In 2015, he became the Chief Executive Officer for the newly merged Burroughs & Jones Counseling and Consulting, LLC after 5 years as CEO of Burroughs Management Consulting, LLC. and 16 years as a bank executive. Born and raised in Tifton, Georgia, he attended Tift County High School (TCHS), Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), The University of Georgia (UGA), and Northcentral University (NCU).
James possesses strong leadership skills and a passion for helping people. He previously worked on the political campaigns for Max Cleland as Georgia Secretary of State and the United States Senate and for William J. Perry as Atlanta City Council. Although this will be his first time running for public office himself, James is very excited about the opportunity to serve his hometown community as the next District 1 Tift County Commissioner. James will be a commissioner who listens to the needs of the community and works tirelessly to solve the issues that negatively impact his constituents and all members of the community. He is prepared to lead, fight, and respond to the needs of the community as the next District 1 Tift County Commissioner!
