For over 13 years Roderick Bridges had the honor and privilege of serving the citizens as a DeKalb County judge. As a fulltime judge, he presided over thousands of cases delivering sound legal opinions. During his tenure, he worked tirelessly developing court programs that reduced the repeat offender rate, saved taxpayers thousands of dollars and made our community safer. Roderick Bridges is a dedicated legal professional with over 18 years of experience practicing law. He has successfully handled complex civil and criminal litigation in state and federal court.
As a member of the Lions Club International, Roderick Bridges is active in many service projects such as building a monument for the fallen police officers at Dresden Park in Chamblee, providing vision screening to children and contributing to the beautification of neighborhoods within DeKalb County. His work with the Interfaith Children’s Movement includes fighting human trafficking, seeking to improve education for our children, and strengthening the foundation of families in Georgia. As a member of 100 Black Men of DeKalb, Roderick Bridges mentor youth and visit various schools in DeKalb County engaging students by implementing fundamental reading skills.
Roderick Bridges graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Biology from Xavier University of New Orleans. He has a Master in Public Health (MPH) from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and a Jurist Doctorate.
