A phrase that can best describe me is that America is the land of opportunity. I was born to Gary and Patricia Fleming, who have been married 54 years this year. I was born in Livonia and raised in South Lyon, my father was employed by Ford Motor Co. as a tool and die maker/experimental parts fabricator and my mother a stay-at-home mom until I reached school age, at which time she worked at various doctors offices and eventually retired from Kroger as a cashier. During middle school we took a class fieldtrip to the 52-1 District Court in Novi, and I was privileged to meet Judge Brian MacKenzie. It was at that moment I decided I wanted to become Judge, and for which I have worked hard to achieve for well over twenty years!
At 17 I graduated South Lyon High School and decided to attend Eastern Michigan University. At Eastern Michigan University I was honored to be a presenter at the EMU Undergraduate Symposium which highlights the best and brightest students at EMU. I subsequently graduated Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors of Business Administration. I enrolled at Southern Illinois University School of Law, and upon entrance was granted the Dean's Scholarship which I retained the entire three years of law school.
I graduated Southern Illinois University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree, becoming the first in my family to receive a professional degree. Subsequently I passed the Michigan Bar and established my own general practice law firm in Monroe. During my private practice I handled such cases as civil litigation, divorces and child custody, and criminal defense from speeding tickets to life offense felonies.
In 2018 I was honored and privileged to be offered an Assistant Prosecutor position with the Lenawee County Prosecutor's Office. Since 2018, I have been entrusted to represent the People of the State of Michigan and Lenawee County in prosecuting a wide range of cases from life offense felonies to speeding tickets. In my position of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney I am honored to have daily contact with various law enforcement throughout Lenawee County, including but not limited to, The Michigan State Police, Lenawee County Sheriff's Office, Adrian Police Department, Hudson Police Department, Morenci Police Department, Blissfield Police Department, Tecumseh Police Department, Department of Natural Resources, Cambridge Township Police Department, Columbia Township Police Department, Madison Township Police Department, and Raisin Township Police Department.
In 2012 I met the love of my life Amy, and in 2013 we were married. We had our first child Harrison, who took the world by storm in 2018, followed up by Hazel in 2020. Our family resides in Blissfield and we have a miniature dachshund named McGee, and our son Harrison has a beta fish named blue and a pleco fish named black. In my free time I enjoy playing adult recreational ice hockey and doing various home improvement projects on my families 120+ year old home.
With my personal background and over decade of legal experience, I have the right experience and I am your right choice to be your next Lenawee County District Court Judge. I humbly ask for your vote in the primary election on August 2nd, 2022. If my story has inspired you, I would ask you to please volunteer or contribute to my campaign.
