My father, Alonzo Edward Sparks is the recipient of the Purple Heart as a Korean War Veteran and my mother, Joyce Ann Sparks is retired public school teacher. They adopted my twin sister and I at the age of 8 out of foster care, so I can tell you that life started out very rough. God blessed my parents to raise me to live life through the lens of a grateful giving heart and service to others is part of my DNA. They also taught me to be a humble, yet fierce advocate to stand up for my rights as well as the rights of others.
I am married to a wonderful supportive husband Lonnie Polk, Jr. who is a Laser Operations Manager at a local manufacturing company and we share two amazing teenage boys, Todd and Tyler.
