Rick was born and raised in Missouri. He attended William Chrisman and Truman High Schools in Independence, Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, and later graduated from University of Missouri--Kansas City with a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science. Later Rick took graduate level courses at Sam Houston State University, majoring in Juvenile Justice then attended California State University--San Bernadino where he majored in Public Administration.
Rick served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a military policeman in the U.S. and Philippine Islands.
Rick worked as a criminal investigator for 40 years in the transportation industry commissioned by the U.S. Department of Transportation. He also served as state police in California, Missouri, and Texas. In Texas, he was commissioned as Special Texas Ranger.
Rick served as a local union representative for the Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clerks where he successfully defended union members from wrongful discharges and helped negotiate a better contract for all members.
Rick lobbied the Texas State House in 1985 where he successfully changed police authorities under Texas Criminal Code Article 212.2. Rick is a former president of Missouri Conservative Coalition. He served as Treasurer for Show-Me Trump in 2016. He was also elected as delegate to 2016 Republican National Convention.
Most recently, Rick has served as substitute teacher for special education departments in Kirkwood, Oakville, and Lindbergh school districts.
He has 2 children and 3 grandchildren who also reside in St. Louis County.
