Matt Nicol was born in Sellersville Pennsylvania. His family moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when he was eight years old. Matt Graduated from Leesville Road High School in Wake County – Class of 2003.
He soon joined the army in 2004 where he went to basic training and AIT at Fort Benning, Ga and trained for the airborne infantry. First duty station was stationed in the oldest active infantry regiment, the 3rd US infantry Regiment, The Old Guard.
I was an escort under President Bush, performed over 1,200 full honor’s funerals in Arlington National Cemetery, was the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge for the nation‘s #1 colors team, as well as the nation’s joint forces color team. I was the regimental recruiter.
Deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom while stationed at Fort Bragg. I was medically discharged at the end of 2012. While on active duty, I served and excelled in various leadership positions.
After being discharged, I went back to my roots selling real estate for a couple years. In 2014, I moved to Ohio, where I started a counseling center for post-9/11 combat Veterans. I worked hand-in-hand with a local judge and started a Veterans Court in Athens, Ohio while I was there similar to the Veteran’s Court that just celebrated its 5th year here in Harnett County. In June 2017, I moved back to North Carolina when shortly thereafter I bought the real estate firm I was formerly employed. Carolina Lakes Lakeside Realty was born.
I specialize in transient areas such as military installations and universities, as well as executive waterfront properties. I am very involved with the community. In the Carolina Lakes area, I started a Veteran’s Group, where veterans help veterans and veterans help the community. I did this in order to give myself and those that I can relate to an added purpose for ourselves and our community.
My most important role is being a father to four children.
