I have lived in the Town of Kent for 36 years. My husband Bruce Campbell and I have two grown sons who graduated from the Carmel Schools. I have degrees in Physics and in Speech and Hearing Sciences.
My work experience includes 14 years at IBM in laser optics and noise control engineering, a brief stint as a clinical audiologist, and 25 years in public higher education at SUNY New Paltz. I teach basic sciences to future speech therapists and I serve as campus governance leader for a group of over 800 academic faculty and professionals.
Community service matters to me. I have served as a volunteer and volunteer coordinator for a Putnam County recreation program for children with disabilities at Green Chimneys (6 years), an assistant 4-H club leader (2 years), a ride leader for the Mid-Hudson Bicycle club (4 years), and as a member of the Town of Kent Conservation Advisory Committee (9 years). In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and bicycling.
My goal is to collaborate with fellow Town Board members, town administration and committees, and the community to advance interests of the Town of Kent and help residents solve problems. My priorities are economic development that preserves the character and quality of life of the town, the health and water quality of the town’s lakes, the NYS DEC Climate Smart program, the Kent Recycling Center, and programming for teens.
