A True Pennsylvanian.
Brittany Kosin is a true Pennsylvanian. Her family can be traced to some of the earliest settlers in Tower City, PA. Brittany’s dad, Jim Forsstrom grew up in Bensalem, serving his community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Trevose Fire Company for over 14 years. Her mom, Debra works in the healthcare insurance sector. After having Brittany, her parents moved to Jamison, where Brittany grew up. Brittany’s dad continued to serve his community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter and became a Life Member at Warwick Township Volunteer Fire Company.
Dedicated and Committed.
At Central Bucks West High School, Brittany played lacrosse while taking honors classes and attending Fire Science classes at the Bucks County Community College. Brittany Volunteered at Warwick Township Volunteer Fire Company while obtaining several certifications, including Vehicle Rescue, Firefighter 1, and EMT-Basic. Brittany attended Millersville University and majored in Meteorology with a minor in Emergency Management and Environmental Hazards. At the same time, she volunteered as a live-in Firefighter for Southern Manheim Township Fire Company. During her time at Millersville University, Brittany discovered a different passion, nursing. She withdrew from Millersville University and enrolled at Dixon School of Nursing. Brittany married her now-husband TJ in 2013 and became a parent to his son Antonio. In October 2013, Brittany and TJ welcomed their daughter Sophia into the world. Brittany graduated from Dixon in 2015 and became a Registered Nurse.
After college, Brittany took on her first nursing job at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. After some time, Brittany missed emergency medicine, having had worked for several years as an EMT. Brittany took a nursing job at Sierra Vista Hospital in Truth or Consequences, NM. Sierra Vista was a critical access hospital in rural New Mexico. Brittany obtained a wealth of knowledge working in the Emergency Department at Sierra Vista. But she missed home, and in 2017 the Kosin family moved back to Pennsylvania and into the Central Bucks School District. Brittany was hired at Lehigh Valley Hospital in the Emergency Department and has been there since 2017. In 2019 Brittany and TJ welcomed their third child into their lives, William John, or as they like to call him, Liam. Brittany rejoined Warwick Township Volunteer Fire Company in 2021 and is currently a member there.
Brittany’s work ethic, experience working in the ER through the Covid-19 pandemic, and passion for her fellow man make her the best candidate for leading the Great Pennsylvania Comeback.
