Cindy has 30 years of experience working in community corrections and youth and family services in county government. She earned her doctorate degree in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida in 2003. Cindy became an official "Jacksonian" in 2014, and has loved being involved in the community and experiencing all Madison County has to offer. She currently works at the University of Tennessee at Martin as an Associate Professor in Criminal Justice.Cindy was named The Jackson Sun Person of the Year in 2019. She was also recognized for her work by the Lane College Chapter of the NAACP. In addition, Cindy received the Sterling Award as one of West Tennessee's 20 Most Influential Women from the Jackson Area Business and Professional Women Association.
