John was elected to represent Precinct 3 on the Nueces County Commissioners Court in November 2016. His precinct includes the cities of Robstown and portions of Corpus Christi, including the areas of Clarkwood, the Corpus Christi international airport, Del Mar College, including Annapolis Christian Academy, St. Patricks, IWA, Ray & King High Schools, Baker, Hamlin, Martin, Haas Middle Schools, Calk-Wilson, Hicks, Berlanga, Woodlawn, Cullen Elementary Schools, in addition to part of the Lamar Park, Ocean Drive, the Pharaoh Valley subdivision and Corpus Christi Country Club area. John was recognized by the National Alumni Association of Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, received a distinguished service award from Texas A&M Kingsville Social Work program, a Del Mar College Wall of Honor award, the Corpus Christi “Under 40” award, a Distinguished Citizen award from LULAC, and most recently recognized by the American G.I. Forum of Texas for Outstanding Leadership., John graduated with a bachelors degree in political science and received his masters of public administration. John was elected to the Corpus Christi City Council, and was elected as the top vote-getter for At-large position with CCISD school board where John served as vice president each year in office and also served as chair of the Insurance and Legislative committees. John and his wife have a daughter and son.
