Scott is a Christian and a military veteran who also served overseas in the First Persian Gulf War. He is a loving father and grandfather who has lived in Panola County Precinct 3 for almost ten years. During this time he has volunteered in many aspects for his community. He is the volunteer Fire Chief and EMT with Inter Community VFD, Fire/EMS Instructor with Kilgore College (teaching Dual Credit Fire Academy to Waskom and Elysian Fields High Schools) and a former Commissioner with the Panola County Groundwater Conservation District (position that did not pay).
Scott currently holds a Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Structural Firefighter certification as well as a Texas DSHS certification as a Emergency Medical Technician - Basic. He holds a graduate degree as well as many other certifications in his work as a former police officer. He has many years of experience in serving on past Boards both within the community and the churches he attended.
Scott has years of experience of both supervisory and budget oversight: as the Fire Chief of ICVFD; Secretary/Treasurer and System Administrator for a large non-profit rural water system in Louisiana (where he holds a Level Two Water Operator license); former Director of Food and Beverage for the Shreveport/Bossier Captains; and former Commissioner with the Panola County Groundwater Conservation District.
Scott's years with serving on various Boards, Commissions and Committees along with his experience in supervising people and budgets with the various organizations he has worked for has prepared him for the fiscal management requirements of being a County Commissioner for Precinct 3.
