Challenger Joseph Marinaccio is running for Gulf Shores City Council Place 4 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The election was held on August 26, 2025.

I am Joseph "Joe" Marinaccio and my wife Ellen and I have been a residents of Gulf Shores for 4 years and I am seeking a place on the Gulf Shores City Council. I am a licensed structural engineer with over 40 years of engineering and project management experience and currently run a small structural engineering consulting business. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Civil engineering and have worked in the public sector for most of my career. I spent 31 years with the US General Services Administration (GSA) managing the Design & Construction of Federal Buildings and US Courthouses in the Southeastern United States. My last 13 years with GSA, I was the branch chief for the capital construction group and worked with US congressmen, US senators, federal judges, local and state government officials to plan, fund and execute the $2 Billion capital construction program.

I am a member of the Little Lagoon Preservation Society Water Sampling team and Oyster Gardener. The water sampling teams takes water samples every two weeks to monitor the health of the Lagoon. I am also a graduate of the Gulf Shores Citizen Police academy and in my spare time I enjoy motorcycling.

I am running for office to facilitate change by bringing a fresh and a unique insight to many of the challenges the city faces. The City Council and residences of Gulf Shores will significantly benefit with new members who will bring new energy and perspectives. I feel many of the current council members have lost touch with the people they serve.
