Susan Zermeno
Challenger Susan Zermeno is running for Covina Council Member in Covina, California. The election was held on March 5, 2024.
I'm a longtime resident of Covina and have served on numerous Covina Commissions and have over 30 years of experience as a City Planner for the City of Los Angeles. The combination of my expertise in professional development and my commitment to our community sets me apart. I was the first women to sit on the Planning Commission and the first women to Chair the commission.
I created and manage "Covina Buzz, the Original" Facebook group with over 11,000 people. I have facilitated community participation and engagement.
My mission is clear, to be "a voice for the community." I will proactively advocate for community participation, balancing growth, a thriving local economy, and ensuring that our public safety is a top priority, all while keeping that small-town atmosphere.
Since 2020, I have served on the Covina Planning Commission, contributing to the shaping of our city's future. In 2016, I was on the Traffic and Advisory Committee and on the Board of Trustees for the Covina Library. I currently serve on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
I’m a wife, mother, animal lover, advocate, and, most importantly, a neighbor committed to our community's well-being.
