"It's been an honor earning the trust of my community to represent their priorities on the city commission and I sincerely hope they’ll grant me the opportunity to continue doing so,” says McDonald. “It’s an exciting time in the city and there’s a lot more we can do to ensure a thriving future while protecting all that makes Stuart so special.”
With his tenure in office contributing to several key achievements for the City of Stuart—recently recognized as the "Best Coastal Town" by USA Today—McDonald cited his:
• Commitment to fiscal responsibility by maintaining the city’s level of service without raising taxes.
• Overseeing completion of the city’s reverse osmosis water plant, ensuring residents enjoy clean drinking water.
• Leadership in the settlement of the landmark litigation with 3M, which positioned Stuart as the bellwether plaintiff, setting a precedent for responsible corporate accountability.
• Support for Fire Station #3 North of the Roosevelt Bridge, reflecting his longstanding support for Public Safety and enhancing the department’s capabilities for top-rated responses.
• Endorsing the partnership with Project Lift’s incoming Vocational Training Facility in East Stuart.
• Assisting in securing a $130.5 million grant to build a new Railway Bridge across the St. Lucie River.
