Hi, I’m Montina, and my husband and I are proud to call McDonough our forever home. Our love for this community runs deep, and I believe McDonough is a place where families, businesses, and neighbors should thrive together.
I wasn’t born here, but I chose to invest my time, career, and future in this city because I see its potential. That’s why I’m running for McDonough City Council At-Large—to help shape a future where civic engagement is easy, small businesses grow, and citizens have a real voice in the decisions that impact their lives.
My journey to public service started with a simple question: How can I help? When I reached out to my local leaders, I didn’t always get the answers I was looking for, so I took action. I started attending City Council, Commissioner and Board meetings, joined local organizations, and got involved in the conversations that shape our city’s future. Along the way, I saw a clear need for stronger community engagement and leadership that ensures everyone—families, businesses, and lifelong citizens—has access to opportunities and resources.
My passion for service isn’t new—it’s been the foundation of my entire career. I started as a middle school teacher, helping students discover their potential, and later became an adjunct professor at a local Technical College, where I continue to educate the next generation. As a full-time business owner and business coach, I’ve spent years helping small businesses grow, thrive, and navigate complex challenges. I’ve also been deeply involved in community service, working with youth organizations, where I had the privilege of shaping young leaders.
My commitment to economic development and small business success led me to become an active member of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, where I advocate for local entrepreneurs. My dedication to leadership and civic engagement has even taken me to the White House during two presidential administrations, where I was honored to participate in discussions on business and community initiatives.
But service isn’t just about titles or experiences—it’s about impact. That’s why I launched The McDonough LIVE Initiative, a long-term community movement focused on building a stronger, more connected city. LIVE represents:
- Local Ambassadors – Strengthening community engagement with long-term residents and newcomers
- Inspiring Connections with Our Youth – Helping our Youth Connect with the Community
- Veterans Spotlight – Supporting and honoring our local veterans
- Engaging with Our Seniors – Ensuring our senior residents remain active, informed, and connected
This initiative reflects my commitment to ensuring McDonough thrives—not just today, but for generations to come.

My priorities are simple: empowering citizens, supporting small businesses, and investing in smart growth. I believe in making civic involvement accessible, fostering economic opportunities, and making sure our infrastructure and policies reflect the needs of the people who live, work, pray, play, and build their dreams here.
