I'm a Dubuquer, small business owner, father, husband, friend, local volunteer, neighbor and citizen of Dubuque Iowa. I was born @ Finley and spent most of my early years in a home my brother Jim (Jamie to me) my mother (Judy) and father (Robert) renovated on the corner of 24th & Broadway. I scrapped my knee racing around the playground @ Fulton Elementary. Met my favorite teacher Mr. Simpson @ Jefferson Junior High, Go Hill Hawks. Learned many a life lesson as a Ram @ Dubuque Senior High School, class of 1990. Leaving town for college I landed, literally, in a small school on Oahu, Hawaii where I studied marine & computer science. I worked on Oahu & the Big Island (what the locals call it) as well as stints in California as a technology consultant. Still, no place felt like home as much as what I recalled from my youth in Dubuque. Through fate a tech gig ended as a technical opportunity arose at my father’s local Main Street shop, McCoy Jewelers. I have been designing, polishing, welding and stone setting ever since, and loving it. I reconnected with my first love Jennifer (Baumhover) McCoy and we now we live, work & play in our home located in the Old Main neighborhood of Downtown Dubuque with our golden-doodle and shop dog Troy.
