Mike Brickner is a longtime Porter County public servant with more than three decades of experience in law enforcement and public safety. He served 31 years with the Valparaiso Police Department, including 14 years as Chief of Police, where he led the department through accreditation efforts, technology modernization, and the construction of a new police facility. After retiring from the department, he served as Porter County's Executive Director of Public Safety and later was elected to the Porter County Council as an at-large member. He currently serves on several county boards related to emergency management, community corrections, redevelopment, and public safety.
