Dr. Laura Gilchrest is a mom, scholar, and community advocate. She’s worked for 20 years alongside communities to evaluate equity, health systems, economic opportunity, and governance. Laura knows that bottom-up solutions and diverse coalitions are key to our collective goals. She’s running for Prince George’s County Council at Large because everyone deserves healthy, equitable communities that reflect who they are. She’s running as a publicly financed candidate, supported by grassroots donations, because she believes that people, not money, should have the priority in our community.
She’s bringing the full scale of her training and experience, deeply rooted in community-driven solutions, to the problems of affordability, land use and stewardship, community-centered and ecologically responsible economic growth, and health and economic equity home to our county. She’s no stranger to hard work and will fight to make sure that everyone from Calverton to Brandywine has a seat and a mic at the table.
