Melissa Fradenburg
Melissa Fradenburg is running for School Board in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, an open seat. The election was held on November 5, 2024.
Melissa Fradenburg plans to use her professional experience in finance to help GPPSS navigate school funding challenges and maintain a balanced budget. She has been a proud resident of Grosse Pointe for 17 years and will have a freshman and a sophomore at South this fall. Melissa has served on the Policy & Contracts Committee and most recently moved to the Facilities & Finance Committee for GPPSS. Her involvement in these committees has provided her with valuable insights into GPPSS funding and the intricacies of managing the school system's resources. Through her work, Melissa has seen firsthand the significant challenges the district faces, from declining enrollment to aging facilities. She has also become increasingly frustrated with the school board's infighting and political posturing, which diverts attention from the primary goal of providing an excellent education for all students. Melissa believes that this divisive behavior must end, and that a collaborative, non-partisan approach is essential for the success of Grosse Pointe Public Schools.
