Emily Moore
Emily Moore is running for City Council in Moorhead, Minnesota, an open seat. The election was held on November 5, 2024.
Every night at our dinner table our family discusses issues our community and country are facing. I'm eager to take my ideas from these conversations from our home to the public arena. The transformation I've witnessed since moving to Moorhead in 2014 is astounding and inspiring. I am eager to participate in the revitalization of our downtown and look forward to supporting and advocating for our local businesses. I have a unique perspective to bring to our City Council with a wide range of experiences. As a member of a Moorhead police family, I have a keen interest in how we will improve recruitment and retention within Moorhead City's Police force. I am also passionate about taking care of our natural environment, my college degree and background in Environmental Policy and Studies has taught me that this is best addressed with an interdisciplinary lens. We need to rely on science, law, economics, and ethics to make long lasting impactful change. For 13 years I was a consultant and program manager working environmental programs and installation management across the Department of Defense. I've also volunteered my time as a Victim Advocate in to support survivor's of military sexual assault. More recently, I was the operations manager for a small woman owned business, where we grew from an annual revenue of $200K to just over a $1M. My diverse background shows my capacity to successfully take on new challenges and serve my community.
