Thomas Willenbring

Thomas Willenbring is running for Oakdale City Council in Oakdale, Minnesota, an open seat. Election day is November 3, 2026.

I’ve called Oakdale home for years, and I’ve watched our city grow and evolve. I’m running for City Council because I believe every resident deserves a seat at the table when decisions are made about our neighborhoods, our taxes, and our future.

I’ve spent more than 20 years working for a Fortune 250 financial services company, and I also own WarpFactor9 Productions, a small sound reinforcement business. I’ve been a Front of House audio engineer since 1981.

Public service has been a steady part of my life. I’ve served as an election judge for over 20 years, including eight years as a Head Election Judge in Dakota County. I joined the Oakdale Planning Commission in 2021 and have served as its vice chair since 2024.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. I’m not a career politician — I’m a neighbor, a community member, and someone who shows up. I attend city meetings, listen to residents across the community, and study the issues facing Oakdale firsthand. When I’m on the Council, you’ll know exactly where I stand — and you’ll always be able to reach me.

My priorities are straightforward: keep Oakdale affordable, grow responsibly, keep our families safe, fix what’s broken, and hold City Hall accountable. That’s a promise, not a talking point.
