Jaime Lynn Carpenter
Challenger Jaime Lynn Carpenter is running for Carroll County Tax Assessor/Collector in Carrollton, Mississippi. Election day is August 3, 2027.
I'm running for Carroll County Tax Assessor/Collector because I believe public service should be exactly that — service to the public.
For more than 26 years, I've worked in healthcare, where I've learned the importance of patience, accountability, accuracy, and treating people with compassion. I've owned a small business, worked long hours, handled difficult situations, and helped people navigate problems they didn't always understand. Those experiences have taught me that hard work, a willingness to learn, and how you treat people matter.
I wasn't raised to believe that any job was beneath me or that any person was more important than another. My parents taught me the value of working hard, doing what's right, and treating people with respect. Those are values I've carried with me throughout my life, and they're the same values I want to bring to this office.
I'm not running because I believe I have all the answers. I'm running because I'm willing to do the work to find them. I understand there are laws, regulations, and responsibilities that come with this position, and I take those obligations seriously. I believe in learning from experienced professionals, asking the right questions, and holding myself accountable.
I also believe there is always room for improvement. Whether it's making office hours more convenient, improving communication, using technology more effectively, or simply making sure someone feels welcome when they walk through the door, I want to look for ways to make county services work better for the people who depend on them.
I'm not running for a title. I'm running for the opportunity to serve.
Carroll County is made up of hardworking families, farmers, business owners, retirees, and people who deserve an office that works just as hard for them as they do for their families.
If elected, I won't promise perfection, but I will promise effort, honesty, accountability, and a genuine commitment to doing the job well.
I want to earn your trust, your vote, and most importantly, your confidence that your tax office is working for YOU.
