Meet Deborah
My name is Deborah A. Duerring, I am running to be your elected Clerk of Court for Moore County. I am running because I believe every citizen deserves a Clerk’s office that operates with efficiency, fairness and compassion - one that truly serves the people of Moore County.
I bring a unique blend of experience from both the legal and judicial sides of the system. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from Campbell University in 2011 with my undergraduate degree having a concentration in Trusts and Estates. I then spent 6 years in private practice with a local estate planning and administration attorney. That time gave me a deep understanding of the legal and personal challenges families face during some of life’s most difficult moments.
I then transitioned to the Moore County Clerk of Court’s office where I spent several years working in the estates and special proceedings department as a deputy clerk of court, as an assistant clerk of court and as the Moore County Interim Clerk of Court. I have over 7 years of experience working in the Clerk of Court’s offices. My experience on both sides of the judicial process has given me valuable insight on how the office can better serve our community.
Throughout my career I have worked with attorneys, families, and individuals from all walks of life - including those who could not afford an attorney. I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for this office to be accessible, knowledgeable and compassionate.
As Clerk of Court I will bring EXPERIENCE, strong leadership, professionalism and a true commitment to public service.
