Gregory Jachts
Challenger Gregory Jachts is running for Ramsey Board of Education in Ramsey, New Jersey. The election was held on November 5, 2024.
Gregory M. Jachts was born in Paterson, New Jersey and has lived in Ramsey for over 12 years.
He is proud to serve the communities where he lives and works.
Greg is a graduate of Seton Hall University and Rutgers School of Law in Camden. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the U.S. District Court – District of New Jersey.
He has handled over 1000 DUI cases. He represents Petitioners in the Division of Worker’s Compensation, defending the rights of the injured worker. He is a past Vice President of the New Jersey Advisory Council of Safety and Health. In 2007, he was honored as the NJACSH Person-of-the-Year for his work in the Bath Unlimited Workers’ Compensation and Civil RICO cases. He was a founding member of the New Jersey Chapter of the Workplace Injury Law Group (WILG-NJ) and has served as Treasurer of the Organization. Mr. Jachts is a frequent lecturer at Continuing Education Seminars and was a keynote speaker at the Workers Compensation Year in Review Seminar.
Greg is a dedicated volunteer in Ramsey, deeply involved in the community’s recreational activities. He currently serves as President of the Ramsey Soccer Association and a member of the Recreation Commission. In the past, he also served as a Ramsey Pool Commissioner and remains active in the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce.
During the fall season, you’ll likely find Greg on the soccer fields, either coaching a team or helping to prepare the field. His commitment extends beyond his own children, as he devotes countless hours each weekend to ensuring that soccer is accessible and enjoyable for all children in the community. Greg is passionate about keeping recreational soccer costs low so that everyone can participate.
Both of Greg’s children attend Ramsey schools. His younger daughter attends Eric Smith Elementary School, while his older daughter is a member of the Marching Band at Ramsey High School.
He supports public education. Greg supported the referendum so improvements could be made to our school's facilities and infrastructure. Good public schools are a cornerstone of many thriving communities. They attract families, boost local economies, and contribute to property values. Simply put, we need good public schools in Ramsey.
Greg frequently attends the Board of Education meetings to learn, become involved and share his ideas.
He intends to work with the present board but wants to be able to present new ideas to increase the value of our children's education while keeping costs in check.
