Bob Mason
Challenger Bob Mason is running for New Mexico House District 21 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Election day is November 3, 2026.
Bob Mason lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After a 30 year career in the U.S. Air Force, he started a company providing leadership development for companies that wanted their supervisors and managers to understand the skills and techniques of better leadership and build more effective teams. He has had the privilege of working with leaders in many companies from the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.
Bob believes New Mexico is a great state with terrific potential, but is squandering that opportunity. As the state representative for District 21, he will fight for this state to realize that potential.
There are many issues which are energizing his run for office. Some of his main concerns are,
• District 21 does not have sufficient representation in New Mexico government. The incumbent ignores correspondence and seems more interested in spending taxpayer’s money than in supporting legislation that would benefit the people and businesses in the district.
• New Mexico is a wealthy state, or at least it has a very wealthy government. Even though the state has various funds that equal more than $66 billion dollars, legislators like the district’s incumbent refuse to even consider reducing the tax burden on citizens. Instead they continually increase the state’s expenditures.
• Even though everyone seems concerned about a rise in crime and declining public safety, the state government’s only approach seems to be restricting the rights of the law abiding while coddling the criminals.
• The legislature seems unable or unwilling to exercise its constitutional responsibility to represent the citizens of the state by reigning in the governor’s abuse of power. During the pandemic the governor issued several decrees that worked to damage and even destroy small business in the state and keep children out of school.
Overall, it seems like the state’s legislature is more beholden to the teacher’s union and the trial lawyers than to the citizens of the state.
