DebeeAnn is a native of Nevada, having been born in Ely and raised in Fernley. She earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Reno. Subsequently, she obtained her master's in business administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix. She taught in the college of business at the University of Phoenix and was the Professor of Military Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
For the past 10 years, she has resided in the Virginia City Highlands and has owned two businesses in Virginia City, where she also serves as a history educator. Currently, she is in the process of renovating an 1865 Victorian home in Virginia City, restoring it to its historical elegance.
DebeeAnn dedicated 32 years to the Army, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Throughout her military career, she specialized in finance, logistics and leadership. Her various assignments included roles such as commander, executive officer, educator and inspector. As a combat soldier, she was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq, where she served as the financial analyst for all Iraqi re-construction, overseeing project management, compliance, allocation of funds, and acting as the liaison to the Washington D.C. inspection teams. DebeeAnn is a well-rounded individual with a diverse background that provides her with the necessary skills to lead our community.
Passionate and driven, DebeeAnn is an active member of the community, always keeping the best interests of the people in mind. Her objectives include ensuring that the voices of the residents are heard while overseeing county government operations, managing compliant budgets, and considering all factors impacted by county growth. While change is unavoidable, she will bring a fresh perspective while working with residents, businesses and community organizations to find solutions to the challenges facing our county.
