Roman Diamond

City: Baldwinsville

Duty is the definition of Roman Diamond. A loyal son of Central New York, 25-year-old Roman Joseph Diamond has served the community that bore him with ability, integrity, and zeal.

The oldest of eight children, Roman grew up learning to work with others, of always finding the best in people; in doing so he found the best in himself. His parents gave him a good appreciation for faith and family values, and this rocklike foundation has provided not only a sturdy support for Roman, but gave him firsthand knowledge of the importance of tradition and common sense, conservative, American values.

An Eagle Scout, Roman has dutifully served his community from an early age. Now a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, this devotion to community continues. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Baldwinsville, and a past teacher of religious education for 7th grade students, Roman's faith gives him an appreciation that there lies a nobler, higher purpose behind what may be seemingly humdrum decisions in life.

A Dean's List graduate of SUNY Oswego, where he studied political science, Roman put this learning to use, running for a position on the Baldwinsville School Board when he was only 18. Being still a student gave Roman excellent experience in dealing with student needs. While on the Board, he pushed for fiscal responsibility, while keeping standards high. Care for students was a hallmark of Roman's time serving on the School Board; after all, he was one himself.

Determined to continue to serve a community that had given so much to him, Roman was elected to serve as Town Councilor for Lysander, a position in which he now seeks re-election. Alongside his political service, Roman serves his community in the private sector, as well, as a Team Leader for Falso Heating and Air Conditioning.

Politics is not the factor behind Roman Diamond's service; duty is.
