Dr. David Licate

David Licate is the Democratic candidate for Summit County Council, District 3. He is employed as Professor and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Akron where he is a fellow at the Center for Intelligence and Security Studies. Licate has also served as the Associate Director of the Center for Emergency Management and Homeland Security Policy Research and Program Coordinator for Criminal Justice Technology. Licate holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and has served as the President of the Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education and At-Large Councilman for Stow. His community service includes serving on the executive management team for the Northern Ohio Crime Consortium, Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee, School Safety Committee, Public Safety Services Commission, and School Facilities Committee. He lives in Stow with his wife and two children.
