Incumbent Derrick DeGroot is running for Klamath County Commissioner in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The election was held on May 21, 2024.
Commissioner DeGroot is a Klamath County native with an eye toward the future. Through his many years of business and military service, he has developed a combination of proven professional leadership and business strategies.
Derrick was born in Klamath Falls and graduated from Klamath Union High School. Upon graduation Derrick joined the US Navy where he served honorably in a Squadron On Board the Aircraft Carrier USS Independence. Upon completion of his service Derrick came home to Klamath. He would soon after meet his wife, Teri, while she was attending Oregon State University.
Derrick and his wife Teri, the Director of the Klamath Early Childhood Development Center, have been married for nearly 27 years and are proud parents of three amazing children. Darrin, who lives and works in Klamath County with his young family. Dylan, a Seargent Combat Medic in the US Army and Annie, a student at Southern Oregon University. They enjoy spending their free time when they are away from work traveling and spending as much time as they can with their 2 year old granddaughter Evie.
Derrick began a career in finance that led to a successful 20 year career as a Mortgage Broker and Real Estate Investor.
First elected in 2016, Commissioner DeGroot has enjoyed serving the citizens of Klamath County and together we have accomplished tremendous growth and success turning Klamath from a county in decline to one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Oregon.
