Jamie Yocom
Challenger Jamie Yocom is running for Rusk County Commissioner Pct. 2 in Henderson, Texas. The election was held on March 3, 2026.
My name is Jamie Yocom, and I am running for Rusk County Commissioner Pct 2. I am a longtime resident of Rusk County. I am married to Angela Yocom and have two sons, Kolby and Jesse. I have dedicated the last 27 years to Rusk County through working at the Sheriff’s Office.
Since 1998, I have proudly served the people of Rusk County through the Sheriff’s Office. I have held the positions of Jailer, Jail Sergeant, Bailiff Sergeant, Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, Investigator, Investigator Sergeant, and currently Patrol Lieutenant. My service at the Sheriff’s Office has prepared me to serve as your Commissioner of Pct.2.
As Commissioner, I will focus on maintaining safe and dependable county roads. I will address all problems and concerns with the roadways in a timely manner this will include the trees which need to be cleared before they fall. I will work closely with all Rusk County elected officials on budget development and the needs of their offices; over the years I have seen elected officials not given the funding their office needs to operate to the best of its ability. I believe a commissioner must be accessible and transparent with the citizens they serve. I am committed to supporting economic growth in Rusk County by investing in infrastructure, strengthening our workforce, and helping local businesses grow and succeed.
I believe the Commissioners Court should be held to a higher standard, and taxpayers deserve timely and transparent financial reports before the tax rate is set. The Commissioners’ Court agenda should be fully transparent and prior to the meeting, documents relating to these agenda items should be posted. This will allow the public to be better informed about these agenda items. Additionally, Commissioners Court should be recorded and posted on Rusk County’s website or social media so taxpayers can view at their convenience.
I am proud to call Rusk County my home, and I desire to continue my service to you as Commissioner in Precinct 2.
