I have over 40 years of applied experience in the criminal justice system.

I have held the following positions:

Chief Investigator with the Fort Bend County Attorney's Office

District Supervisor with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission

Sergeant with the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office

Sergeant with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, and

Patrolman with the Sugar Land Police Department.

I hold a Master Peace Officer's License and an Instructor's Certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

I am a small-business owner.

My wife, JoAnn and I own Certified 2 Serve, an internet education provider for TABC Seller/Server and Texas Food Handler training.

I am a Certified Fraud Examiner.

I have an undergraduate Diploma in Pastoral Theology from the University of St. Thomas, St. Mary's Seminary in Houston.

My Christian faith is very important to me. For the past 20 years, I have been involved in correctional ministry at the Fort Bend County Jail and the Wayne Scott Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division.

I have been a member of several different organizations, including:

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Texas District and County Attorney's Association, Texas Municipal Police Association, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, International Diaconate Centre, The Knights of Columbus, and the National Society Sons of the American Revolution.
