Erik Klauser

Challenger Erik Klauser is running for Utah House 15 in Layton, Utah. Election day is November 3, 2026.

Proudly Poor, Highly Educated, worked full-time while attending full-time school and still graduated with crippling student loan debt.

Overly Empathetic and Altruistic.

Adaptive to everything and willing to hear every point. After all, the greatest leaders are the ones who listen to counter-points, while keeping an open mind.

I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it left!

Platform is simple: Stop over-spending, stop denying science, stop letting the loudest voices control everything (akin to the squeaky wheel getting the grease) and stop metaphorically saving a few cents in cutting preventative measures... then spend hundreds of times that amount down the road to solve an issue which could have been avoided with forethought.

Being a frequent user of the Health Care system, I can attest, the phrase is right: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! This goes to healthcare, mental health, addiction recovery, Veteran affairs, Infrastructure, STEM Programs, food production overhaul, housing shortages and Inflation.

Give back freedoms to the people but make sure they come with the knowledge of "Freedom with Responsibility".

Pro Rights for Humans, respect for others, Nature, Body-Autonomy, self-expression without victimization... both personally and in others. If your rights infringe upon the rights or peace of others, then those rights should be limited!

Mostly, I'm tired that 3% of the people get to ride on the horse in the parade, while all us other 97% have to walk behind them with a shovel and bucket.

Other countries have learned, when two people are drowning, you hold on to each other, increase the surface area and keep your noses slightly out of the water while both continue to breath and live... NOT to force one person completely under the water, killing them, so that the other person can have their head raised up slightly more.
