Dennis Ellis
Challenger Dennis Ellis is running as a Republican for Representative 48th Legislative District - Pos. No. 1 in Redmond, Washington. The election was held on August 5, 2025.
Born and raised in Seattle, I have called Redmond home for nearly 34 years with my wife and two children. Our family has been deeply rooted in this community through our long-standing membership at Timberlake Church, where we have served both locally and globally.
My diverse professional background has prepared me to tackle the complex challenges facing our district. From working as a commercial fisherman in Alaska during high school to serving five years in the United States Air Force, I learned the values of hard work and commitment to something greater than myself. After earning my Bachelor of Business Administration from Gonzaga University, I spent a decade in construction, mastering the fundamentals of business operations and management.
As an entrepreneur, I have founded and co-founded multiple businesses across the construction, manufacturing, and consulting sectors. This experience, combined with my Master of Science in Finance from Seattle University, led to a career as a financial analyst with The Boeing Company, where I developed expertise in complex financial systems and strategic planning.
This varied career path has equipped me with essential skills in finance, management, and business development, while my military service instilled discipline, integrity, and dedication to public service. These experiences make me uniquely qualified to represent Legislative District 48.
Currently serving as leader of LD48 while maintaining my full-time career, I am running for State Representative Position No. 1 because our district needs fresh leadership. For too long, we have seen the same approach: higher taxes, expanded government, and increased regulation that restricts individual freedom and economic growth.
I will bring a conservative perspective focused on fiscal responsibility, limited government, and protecting the individual liberties that make Washington a place where families and businesses can thrive. Our community deserves representation that understands both the challenges facing working families and the principles that drive economic opportunity.
