Linda Stevens
Challenger Linda Stevens is running for Moraga Orinda Fire District (MOFD) Board Member in Orinda, California. Election day is November 3, 2026.
Technology is advancing fast, and that's good news for our fire district. New tools are making fire prevention, response, and recovery smarter and more effective every year. I want to help the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District put those tools to work for our community.
For more than 40 years, I've worked in the geospatial industry, building technology that supports firefighters and first responders. I spent 28 years as an executive at ESRI, the world's leading Geographic Information Systems (GIS) company. That experience taught me how to identify practical solutions, learn from proven approaches, and bring the right experts to the table. I'll use that knowledge to strengthen how our District protects the nearly 38,500 residents across our 42 square miles.
Our District faces real challenges. We include areas designated as Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones, and our crews respond to more than 3,000 incidents each year. Smart planning and modern tools can help our firefighters work faster, safer, and more efficiently. I believe I can help make that happen.
I also understand the power of community. As a former board member of the Southern California Mountains Foundation, I saw firsthand how local organizations and engaged citizens can expand what our firefighters are able to do. Strong partnerships and open communication make our whole District safer.
I hold a degree in geography from UCLA and a Master's from the University of Redlands. I moved to the LaMorinda area in 2015 and quickly found my home here. I love our access to nature, our small-town charm, and our easy connection to San Francisco. Protecting this special place is personal for me.
I'm asking for your vote so I can bring my technical expertise, board experience, and deep commitment to our community to the MOFD Board of Directors. Together, we can keep Moraga, Orinda, Canyon, and Bollinger Canyon safe for years to come.
