Michael “Mike” Ramos is a candidate for East Whittier City School District Board of Education, Trustee Area 3. A former EWCSD student, California State Lottery employee, community advocate, and Vice Chair of SEIU Local 1000 Bargaining Unit 1, Mike brings firsthand experience in public service, leadership, collective bargaining, employee representation, and working collaboratively to solve problems. Mike is running to bring present, transparent, accountable, and hands-on leadership to East Whittier schools. His priorities include student achievement, safe and supportive schools, responsible use of district resources, stronger communication, and meaningful input from staff, teachers, families, and the community. Mike believes effective leadership means showing up, listening, asking questions, building trust, and following through. His goal is to strengthen the connection between the School Board and the people it serves while helping create strong schools where students can succeed and employees and families know their voices matter.
