Dennise Cook
Dennise Cook is running for City Council District 12 in Jacksonville, Florida, an open seat. Election day is March 9, 2027.
I am 1 of 4 children that grew up in a military family. My dad was a 22 year Air Force veteran. I have been in Jacksonville for 37 years, married for 32 year , we moved to the westside 24 years ago where we have raised our son. I have worked outside the home ( and in the home) and with a variety of roles and responsibilities I have developed a strong skill set that will transfer into local government.To round out my skills. I have been volunteering and advocating for the last 20 years. My skills include leadership, Listening, Approachability, Understanding, Representing, Organizing concerns, and elevating them. Working on solutions to Concerns. I am Innovative and Open Minded. Compassionate , and Committed. I am teachable and love to learn.
My platform includes:
Growth management by using zoning,a moratorium on development without infrastructure.Development should be intentional , thoughtful and with purpose understanding the impact of neighborhoods.
Government accountability with spending, non-profits, upholding commitments.Neighborhood bill of Rights
Community engagement and involvement ,through planning , zoning, CPAC
Opportunities for safety , employment, training.
