Carrie Gribbins Truitt

Carrie Gribbins Truitt is running for Kentucky State Senator, 14th District in Lebanon, Kentucky, an open seat. Election day is November 3, 2026.

Raised on a small dairy and tobacco farm in Marion County, Carrie Gribbins Truitt learned early the value of hard work and the weight of struggle. Her grandmother instilled in her a love of learning that carried her to the University of Kentucky, Campbellsville University, and eventually into a two-decade career serving others through nonprofit organizations. That same drive brought her young family home to Marion County in 2011. Serving on the Marion County Board of Education since 2016, and as chair since 2021, has been one of the greatest honors of her life, giving Carrie a front-row seat to both the strength of this community and the very real challenges families face every day.

What she sees on that board compels Carrie to do more. Housing instability, food insecurity, limited access to healthcare and mental health services aren't abstract policy issues, they are the lived reality of our neighbors. Carrie believes we have to meet people where they are, support them through a holistic approach, and break the cycle of scarcity before it reaches our children's classrooms. That is why she is running for State Senate. The needs of these families, and their voices, are what she will carry with her to Frankfort every single day.
