About Judge Erica Dominguez
I proudly serve as Judge of Bexar County Court at Law No. 6. Born and raised in San Antonio, I have dedicated my life to serving both my country and my community. I spent nearly eight years in the United States Air Force, including deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. After my military service, I returned home to continue serving, this time as an advocate for those in need.
As an attorney with the Bexar County Public Defender’s Office, I represented over 1,000 clients, building a career grounded in compassion, advocacy, and justice. I bring that same client-centered approach to the bench, ensuring that everyone who enters the courtroom is treated with fairness and respect.
I have been described as a judge who exemplifies firm but fair leadership, accountability, and unwavering support—values I bring to every decision I make.
In addition to presiding over Bexar County Court at Law No. 6, I oversee the Bexar County Misdemeanor Veterans Treatment Court, one of the largest Veterans Treatment Courts in Texas. Since taking the bench, we have expanded the court’s reach, helping 179 veterans in 2023 and 209 veterans in 2024. Through this work, I remain committed to service before self and to serving those who served us by providing our veterans with the support, resources, and opportunities they deserve.
Through the Veterans Treatment Court, we link veterans to vital mental health and substance abuse treatment throughout the program, helping them rebuild their lives and relationships. We guide them as they set educational and employment goals, empowering them to leave the program in a much stronger position than when they entered.
Many come to us at the lowest point in their lives—arrested, struggling, and uncertain of their future. But with the right support, structure, and accountability, they graduate with hope restored, dignity reclaimed, and a renewed sense of purpose.
