Louise Povlin
Louise Povlin is running for Mayor Town of Farragut in Farragut, Tennessee, an open seat. The election was held on August 6, 2026.
Louise relocated to East Tennessee in 1992 and immediately recognized what a special community she had joined. Through years of volunteering in local schools and organizations, she became known as someone who rolls up her sleeves and contributes wherever she’s needed.
In 2013, Mayor Ralph McGill invited her to serve on the Municipal Planning Commission, marking the beginning of her formal volunteer service with the Town of Farragut. In 2016, Mayor McGill again approached her—this time encouraging her to apply for a vacant Alderman seat in the North Ward. She was appointed in January 2016 and later that year was elected to the seat.
In 2018, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen selected her to serve as Vice Mayor, a role she held until her term as Alderman concluded in 2024 due to term limits.
Now, in 2026, she is seeking the office of Mayor and looks forward to a lively and respectful discussion about the issues that matter to this community she has served for more than three decades.
