I'm Jordan Garst, candidate for Ojai City Council's District One. As the fourth generation "born and raised" in Ojai, I'm happy to be raising the Garst's fifth generation in Ojai, too. Garst Lane remains part of the local landscape, and if you learned to drive here, my grandfather was likely your teacher.
I'm running for City Council to put residents first and get City Hall back to basics: safe neighborhoods, reliable infrastructure, proactive planning for fires, floods, and other emergencies, and responsible growth. Above all, I believe taxpayers deserve financial transparency, competitive bidding, realistic cost projections, accountability, and careful review before public dollars are committed.
As a clinical trials finance professional specializing in budget development and contract negotiations for first-in-human oncology studies, I help bring cancer treatment to patients for the first time. My work requires rigorous financial oversight, careful analysis, sound judgment, skilled vendor negotiation, and planning for
the unforeseen. In fact, my work has taught me to ask the hard questions, find the right expertise, and work through complex problems responsibly.
