Olivia Sanwong

Incumbent Olivia Sanwong is running for East Bay Regional Parks District Director, Ward 5 in Pleasanton, California. Election day is November 3, 2026.

From Brushy Peak to Mission Peak, re-elect Olivia Sanwong for East Bay Regional Park District. Deeply rooted in this community since childhood, I am honored to serve as your elected representative and Board President. My promise: to protect our land, water, wildlife, and open space because time in nature restores us all. First-term governing achievements: securing $10,000,000 wildfire prevention funding; advancing wildfire-resilient Vegetation Management Strategy; restoring Shadow Cliffs Lake and grassland ponds; and expanding Alameda Creek Watershed environmental education. We opened Patterson Ranch (300 acres) at Coyote Hills; Iron Horse Trail Bridge at Dublin Boulevard, improving public safety; Tyler Ranch (2,844 acres, 18 miles of trails) and Valle Vista mountain biking flow trail at Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park. I am a UCLA-educated mathematician and MBA with 15 years of civic leadership; 12 years with East Bay Regional Park District since appointment to Park Advisory Committee; and 9 years governing in elected office, responsible for approving budgets, accountable to the public as a fiduciary — first as Zone 7 Water Agency Director (2018-2022), then East Bay Regional Park District Director since 2023. Vote Olivia Sanwong so I can continue my work resolving issues with the Del Valle kiosk and Mission Peak restrooms, and open Doolan Canyon and Garms. This work requires multi-jurisdictional thinking where partnerships matter as much as policies. Endorsements include: AFSCME Local 2428, Sierra Club, League of Conservation Voters, Assemblymember Alex Lee (Fremont, Newark, Sunol), Mayors Sherry Hu (Dublin); John Marchand (Livermore); Jack Balch (Pleasanton).
