Incumbent Christian Peacox is running for Carlsbad City Treasurer in Carlsbad, California. Election day is November 3, 2026.
Serving as your Carlsbad City Treasurer has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Since taking office in 2024, I've worked to protect taxpayer dollars through responsible financial management, transparency, and accountability.
Today, I directly manage the City's nearly $1 billion investment portfolio, generating tens of millions of dollars annually to help fund essential City services while reducing the burden on taxpayers.
By working collaboratively with City staff and the City Council, we've strengthened Carlsbad's investment program by modernizing our Investment Policy, earning the California Municipal Treasurers Association's Investment Policy Certification, and creating Carlsbad's first Investment Review Board to provide independent oversight and greater transparency.
To better serve our community, I earned the Certified California Municipal Treasurer (CCMT) designation and remain committed to the three guiding principles of public investing: Safety, Liquidity, and Yield. In practice, that means protecting public funds first, ensuring the City has sufficient cash to meet its obligations, and earning a prudent return for taxpayers.
I bring more than 30 years of business and financial experience and graduated magna cum laude from USC with a Business degree emphasizing International Finance.
